When cookies are utilised to present advertisements to users who have previously in a product, service, or brand, the terms remarketing and retargeting are frequently used. Google refers to this practice as remarketing in AdWords. However, is there a distinction between the two terms?
There is a debate among experts about whether remarketing and retargeting are the same thing. Does remarketing encompass other marketing practices like email marketing and direct mail, or is retargeting simply using cookies or pixels to track users with an ad?
